1.4 Update 23/04/2024
Hi, this may well be the final update to my game, the website which hosted the scores for the on-line element of the game I discontinued as it really wasn't getting any attention so I've focused on removing those parts from my game and with a little bug removal here & there (nothing major) and a flash of new artwork to start up with the game now stands complete.
181 downloads, 1 sale... I didn't not advertise this game; I didn't really think it was worth it, I do have my own arcade version of this game ( see attachment images ) which stands in my kitchen which is occasionally played by me, my high score stands at 30+ million, it's so much fun playing on a machine like that, I hope to share it one day, or it'll end up as some ghoulish oddity in some multimillionaire's man-cave, who knows.
Until then I'm off to pursue another folly, becoming a DJ once again, who knows where it'll lead me, perhaps nowhere, fun trying though.
I started Galaxy Pilot back in 2014 as my then girlfriend Debs got me a course on how to program a game in C#, so I created a simple space invaders clone (which I've left in as a ghostly remembrance of what the game was really all about originally) but over time I changed things, adding things, thought up new ideas and bingo, eight years later... Star Force clone! Huzzah!
I didn't gamble on the fact you need some serious bunce to promote a game, mine was swamped within hours by other very decent games but I thought at least I've finished it, I pushed for the burn getting it down and finished, it was endless fiddling and bug hunting but making things perfect, I enjoyed the programming aspect, it's a lot of hard work and I found it hard going, I was very slow just taking my time, but this allowed me to think more intensely about what I really wanted and how to improve things, well it's there in front of you, it's like a good book, my only book... placed on the shop-shelf by my good self and then bought by a select few to enjoy, a hidden gem perhaps.
Remember me when I'm wizened & old and grey-haired won't you?
Below is my YouTube channel, hasn't got much on it, I don't really used it anymore, you might find an "Alien" app of interest there.

Until next time my friends, thanks so much for your words of encouragement and enjoy!
ps. I've included in the zip file a note about scores, if you have GP already installed then installing this will reset the high-score table but you can copy your old score data across to the new installation directory and they'll show up in the new game.
